Port Columbus Celebrates 50 Years of Passenger Service by Delta, United
COLUMBUS, OH -- Delta Air Lines and United Airlines commemorate 50 years of passenger service at Port Columbus International Airport this month. We truly appreciate the long-term commitment these airlines have made to the Columbus market and our travelers, said Elaine Roberts, President & CEO of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. In this time of almost daily reports on airline failures and financial struggles, it can be easy to forget that some airlines have been in the industry for decades. Today Delta is the third-largest carrier at Port Columbus and offers 27 daily departures to six destinations: Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, New York-Kennedy, New York-LaGuardia and Salt Lake City. Meanwhile, United offers 14 daily departures to Chicago-O Hare, Denver and Washington-Dulles. These two airlines combine to carry about 25 percent of all Port Columbus passengers. Port Columbus will celebrate this milestone during the week of January 26, including distributing cookies to Delta and United passengers on Thursday, Jan. 29.
